Somebody turned on the lights.

It seems like as we progress through childhood, growing into adulthood, that someone just keeps dimming the lights lower and lower until when we finally reach the work place the only light we can see is from TV in front on us. So we sit and stare at it unable to see into the darkness behind it and become hypnotized by its empty promises.
I realized at an early age that I didn’t want to be follower and never liked the idea of working for someone else. I knew I wanted to be in business for myself so I began self educating. After high school the work place became my classroom and I learned how to run other people’s businesses. Moving forward in this manner was like having a flashlight to see into that darkness beyond the comforting images of the TV but can still only see in the direction the light is shinnng.
Through a lot of sweat equity and the integration of knowledge I gained through all the various jobs I had finally reached my goal of being self employed more than a year ago. Even though I have already been applying many of the techniques and skills covered in these books and indeed owe my current success to it, I still recognize the immense value these books hold and know It was well worth the investment. Now I feel like I don’t need the flashlight to see into the darkness anymore because these books tear down the walls and let the sunlight in.
