Reflections on the 1st Meeting

I’d summarize what I’ve learned so far this way: Our purpose in life is to be happy. The way we achieve happiness is by creating values in business. We discover our path in business by uncovering our Friday night essence. It all makes sense, but even after reviewing book 2, I’m having difficulty determining my Friday night essence.

I am still confused as to where this is going. I am not through reading any of the books. I have read some of each of the first 3 books and am enjoying the life story of Miss Annabell’s Secrets. I was deeply touched by many of the stories as I am caring for my wife in a nursing facility. She is inflicted with Alzheimer’s and can no longer communicate verbally. Everything she tries to say comes out jibberish and not understandable. I am 67 years old and wish that I had heard of this during the early years of my life. I am struggling with the God-Man scenario as I am deeply rooted in my religion. Although I have not always agreed with everything that my church preaches, I have always had a close relationship with my God and Jesus Christ and still proclaim him as my savior. I feel that he has carried me through many difficult times throughout my life.

I believe that our purpose in life is to be happy. I believe that we create our happiness by creating values and teaching these values to our young. I believe that our young are the future of this world and the world can only survive through values of helping others and not thinking solely of self.
