A long way yet to go. . .

This meeting to me was a review of what I have already studied. The new concept I took away from it was the idea of value creation being the adult version of playing.

That presents me with some excitement and many challenges at the same time.

I grew up in a family with a fanatical religious zealot for a father. He, by his actions, taught me that fanaticism in anything is not a good thing. He also was responsible for my later questioning of religion as a valid concept. For at least 20 years, I have referred to myself as spiritual, but not religious. I’m currently working on that last stage.

The closest I have ever come to my Friday Night Essence, as you described it, has been my hobby with computers. I have never had a job (or made a dime)using computers, but I have owned PCs off and on for the past 25 to 30 years. Since I am completely self-taught, there is a lot I don’t know yet, but I am working on it.

The other challenge I am pondering about incessantly is my present employment situation. I am stuck in a town I didn’t plan on living in and have been unemployed for more than a year. I am collecting unemployment at the present and “getting by.” I am finishing my first extension of benefits this week. Allegedly, there are two more extensions possible, but the benefits are finite in nature. The temp agency that was supplying work to me left town some months ago. The employment situation here is anything but rosy.

I have known for some time that I need to move out of here and get to where I want to be, but employment isn’t good in any place I want to move to, either. I am constantly pondering the possibilities.

I came to this meeting looking for encouragement and the chance to possibly generate some new ideas. I believe that I will find what I am looking for.

Thanks!
